Overseas packages

Handy hints to mail packages overseas.

This post used to have a long description of how to mail things using the US Post Office forms.  Since then, I’ve discovered Pirateship, which sells you USPS and UPS charges and labels and does all the work of preparing the customs labels.  They also have a third option which they call the “Simple Export Rate.”  The rates are also dramatically lower than paying retail price at the USPS or UPS websites. It also works domestically, with equally big discounts.

Highly recommended.

Internet Privacy

If you aren’t encrypting your email messages, the NSA will have a copy of everything you send. No problem, you say? I don’t need to worry about it because the government will insure that no one will have access to my information? Love living in a police state?

I have a bridge in Brooklyn I’d like to sell you.
